Shoulder Band Warmup Drills
Shoulder band warmup drills use light pull-aparts and rotations to prime the cuff before presses—control without long pre-lift static sleeper stretches.
Shoulder band warmup drills—pull-aparts, external rotations, face pulls, scapular CARs with light resistance—prime the rotator cuff and mid-back before pressing or pulling. Two to three sets of twelve to fifteen controlled reps at easy band tension; no ego loading.
They improve glenohumeral tracking without the long static sleeper stretch that some lifters overuse pre-bench. Pair with thoracic extension if arms fall forward in overhead tests.
Common questions
-
How heavy should warmup bands be?
Light enough for smooth fifteen-rep sets with zero pain. Warmup bands prime control; they are not a max-effort row replacement.
