Psyllium Water Ratio
Psyllium water ratio means enough fluid per teaspoon—usually eight ounces or more—so husk gels in the cup, not as a dry mass that worsens cramping.
Psyllium water ratio is the fluid volume needed for husk to gel safely—typically at least eight ounces water per teaspoon, more in heat or heavy training weeks. Under-hydrated psyllium swells in the gut and can worsen constipation or cramping instead of easing it.
Stir immediately and drink before the mix thickens; chasing dry husk with a sip fails. Evening doses need afternoon hydration already on board, not chugging at bedtime.
Ratio matters more than brand for comfort.
Common questions
-
Can you mix psyllium with juice instead of water?
Yes if total fluid volume stays adequate. Juice adds sugar calories; water keeps the ratio clear for titration without extra variables.
