Foam Rolling
Foam rolling eases tightness and DOMS sensation with brief per-muscle rolling—complements mobility and sleep but does not replace deloads.
Foam rolling is self-myofascial release using a roller to ease perceived tightness, improve short-term range of motion, and reduce DOMS sensation—not permanent tissue remodeling. Sixty to ninety seconds per muscle group before or after training is typical.
It complements mobility and sleep; it does not fix overtraining.
Common questions
-
Is foam rolling better before or after workouts?
Both work—light rolling before can prime movement; after sessions may ease soreness. Avoid aggressive rolling on acute injuries or inflamed tendons.
