Fasting Window Length

Fasting window length counts non-caloric hours between meals—shorter or longer only helps when eating-window quality and training fuel match your goals.

Fasting window length is how many consecutive hours you consume no caloric foods or drinks—water, plain tea, and black coffee are typical exceptions. Longer windows do not automatically improve fat loss if the eating window overcompensates.

For athletes, window length should follow sleep, social meals, and session timing more than influencer minimums.

Common questions

  • Does a longer fast always burn more fat?

Fat loss tracks weekly energy balance and protein, not hours alone. Long fasts with huge refeeds often erase the deficit.
