Anterior Pelvic Tilt
Anterior pelvic tilt is a forward-tipped pelvis often linked to sitting and muscle imbalance. Strength, mobility, and braced lifting usually help more than posture fear.
Anterior pelvic tilt is when the front of the pelvis drops and the lower back arches—common with prolonged sitting and weak glute-abdominal coordination, not a permanent deformity. It can shift squat and hinge mechanics and contribute to low-back fatigue if load outpaces mobility work.
Fix with hip flexor length, glute strength, and braced lifting cues rather than aggressive belt-wearing alone.
Common questions
-
Does anterior pelvic tilt always cause back pain?
Not always—many people tilt slightly without symptoms. Pain usually involves load, weakness, and volume together; address training and breaks, not only pelvic angle.
